4K WALK

Too many girls and women are still living with painful periods, fibroids, endometriosis, heavy bleeding, hormonal changes and other menstrual health challenges without the knowledge, support or confidence to seek help early. For many, the journey is filled with confusion, dismissal and silence.

Too often, the question is:

“Is this normal?”

At The Period Place, we believe no girl or woman should have to navigate her menstrual health journey alone.

That is why this year, funds raised through Walk to Give Her a Voice will support

The Period Place Menstrual Health Education & Advocacy Fund.

This fund helps us create safe, informed and empowering spaces where girls and women can learn about their bodies, understand symptoms earlier, speak openly about their health and build the confidence to advocate for themselves.

Because when women and girls have knowledge, they have power.
And when they have support, they know they are not alone.

What your fundraising will support

Your fundraising will help us deliver meaningful menstrual health education and advocacy through:

  • Menstrual health workshops in schools
  • Community health events and safe spaces for open conversation
  • Fibroids and reproductive health awareness sessions
  • Mother and daughter education sessions
  • Programmes that build girls’ confidence, body literacy and wellbeing

These are not just events…

They are life-changing spaces where people feel seen, heard, informed and supported.

Your support helps girls better understand their first period, helps women recognise symptoms earlier, and helps communities challenge shame and stigma around menstrual health.

Why This Matters

Menstrual health conditions affect countless women and girls, yet many still suffer in silence.

A lack of awareness can mean delayed support, reduced confidence, missed opportunities and years of thinking pain is simply something to endure.

Through education and advocacy, we can change that.

With your help, we can ensure that more girls and women:

  • understand their bodies with confidence
  • recognise when something is not right
  • access trusted information and support
  • feel safe talking about menstrual health without shame

Every pound raised helps us take another step towards a future where menstrual health is understood, prioritized and openly discussed.

Your Impact

could help support a girl to attend a menstrual health education session

could contribute towards a community health awareness event

could help support a mother and daughter wellbeing session

could help deliver a menstrual health workshop in a school or community setting

could help us run a larger health education event reaching more girls and women

Every penny counts

The bigger the fundraising, the bigger the impact we can make together.

To encourage fundraising and celebrate the amazing efforts of our Aberdeen walkers, we are delighted to offer a special fundraising prize draw thanks to generous gifts and vouchers donated by our sponsors and supporters.

Fundraising is powerful

Taking part in the walk is free, but when you choose to fundraise, you help us do so much more.

You help us cover essential event delivery costs, grow our education programmes, and reach more girls and women with the support, knowledge and advocacy they deserve.

Whether you raise a little or a lot, your support matters.

Because every conversation started, every girl reached, and every woman supported can make a lasting difference.

You Are Not Walking Alone

This walk is about more than awareness.

It is about community.
It is about compassion.
It is about standing together for every girl and woman who has ever felt unheard, dismissed or ashamed to speak about her menstrual health.

At The Period Place, we want every participant, every supporter and every woman we reach to know this:

You Are Not Walking Alone!
