Step Up for Her
Schools Dance-A-Thon
Move with purpose. Dance for dignity. Step up for girls’ health.
Step Up for Her is an exciting Dance-A-Thon challenge for schools, community and dance groups to support menstrual health education and wellbeing through the Period Place.
Instead of walking, students come together to learn and perform a shared dance sequence, raising awareness and funds through movement, creativity and teamwork.
Every step, spin and move helps us reach more girls with knowledge, confidence and safe spaces to understand their bodies.
Step Up for Her. Dance for dignity. Support girls’ health.
Why This Matters
Many young people still grow up without enough knowledge about menstrual health. Shame and stigma can make it difficult for girls to ask questions, understand their bodies, or seek help when something is wrong.
Funds raised through Step Up for Her will support the Period Place Menstrual Health Education & Advocacy Fund, helping us deliver:
- Menstrual health education workshops in schools
- Safe spaces where young people can ask questions openly
- Community conversations that reduce stigma
- Programmes that build confidence and body literacy
Together, we can ensure that girls grow up informed, confident and supported.
The Dance Challenge
Participating schools will perform The Step Up Sequence – A fun and inclusive dance routine for boys and girls

Two versions will be available:
